Soccer, also known as football, is the most popular sport globally and has a big following in Africa. With the increasing popularity of sports betting, soccer betting has become a popular pastime, offering a wide variety of markets to choose from.
Betting markets are essentially different types of bets that can be placed on soccer matches, allowing bettors to wager on a range of outcomes. In this article, we'll explore some of the most popular betting markets for soccer.

Soccer Betting Types

If you're looking to enhance your soccer betting experience and win big, read on to discover the different types of betting markets for soccer.

  • Match Result: involves choosing the team you believe will win or selecting a draw.

  • Correct Score: allows you to predict the final score at the end of normal time, potentially resulting in big pay-outs.

  • Half Time/Full Time, or "double result": involves predicting the outcome of both halves of the match. This is a useful bet to consider when you expect a close game that may open up in the second half.

  • Draw No Bet: similar to the Match Result bet, but with no option to select a draw result. You get your money back if the match ends in a draw.

  • Double Chance bet: allows you to cover two of three possible outcomes with a single bet. Choose from betting on the home team and draw, away team and draw, or home team and away team.

  • Three-Way Moneyline: standard moneyline bets require you to pick a team to win, but with three-way moneyline bets, you have three options: win, lose, or draw. This is an extremely popular soccer betting market due to the sport's low-scoring nature.

  • Total Goals (Over/Under): allows you to predict whether the total goals in a match will be more or less than a specified number. This type of bet is very popular given there are only two possible outcomes.

  • First Goal Scorer: involves betting on which team or player will score the first goal, or choose the 'No Goal Scorer' option if you think there won't be any goals in normal time.

  • Total Corners or Cards: bet on the total number of corners taken or yellow/red cards given in a soccer match. Bettors who are confident in their predictions can win big by placing their bets on the number of corners or cards in a match.
