Tuesday May 9 - Vaal Tips and Analysis

Race 1

CAPTAIN WARA placed at only start at Vaal, expect to be right up there. MVELELO on debut and racing without trial, a close top selection.  KNOCKEMSTIFF first start and draw the rails, in with a chance. NO FILTER ran nan back from the winner at only start at Turffontein, don't dismiss.

Race 2

Expecting this to be run at a genuine clip. JET DYNASTY last start winner at Vaal and has a lot of early speed, consider for the win. HAZLO GRANDE winner at Vaal and placed once this campaign. STREET ART resumes after an 18 week spell and has a lot of early speed, for the exotics. ROMEO'S MAGIC coming off a win at Turffontein. Has plenty of early speed and a likely leader, perfectly placed. Has plenty of early speed and a likely leader, include in exotics.

Race 3

Backmarkers should get their chance in a good speed race. Manz Knight expected to run a solid race in this one and will be looking for the win. EVERY CLOUD amongst the placegetters last start running second at Vaal and should run fitter for past attempts, a winning chance. IMPRESSION has a lot of early speed, the real danger in the race. DESERT FOX looks the leader and has two placings from nine runs this prep, not without each-way claims.

Race 4

Expecting this to be run at a genuine clip. SPIRIT PRINCESS has plenty of early speed and a likely leader, well placed. IMPERSONATION has plenty of early speed and a likely leader, sneaky chance. IDEAL HEART amongst the placegetters last start running third at Vaal when resuming, each-way claims. PERFORM resumes from a 21 week spell and ran seven lengths back from the winner at only start at Vaal, the real danger in the race.

Expecting this to be run at a genuine clip. ABSOLUTE VALUE looks the leader and all wins have come when faced with dry ground, looks threatening. TIME SPIRIT let-up and has a lot of early speed, hard to go past. ARDEN PARK looks the leader, still in this. GREAT AFFAIR capable of racing on speed and both wins have come in the dry, could upset.

Race 6

Looks to have good pace engaged in this one. TROMPIE expected to be the pick of the field in this closely contested race. CONSTABLE resumes after a 13 week spell and looks the leader, needs the breaks. LUCY ENGLISH looks the leader and goes well at Vaal, not without each-way claims. BOLD ACT won last start at Turffontein and has genuine early speed, genuine contender.

Race 7

Genuine speed engaged in this one. ON CUE should be battling it out at the front of the field. STORMY SEAS should find the lead easily having drawn well, hard to go past. ESQUEVELLE first-up after 22 week spell. Has plenty of early speed and a likely leader, not the worst. CAPTAIN DIZZY back from 12 week let-up and has the speed to overcome a very wide draw, could threaten.

Race 8

Anticipating this to be run genuine tempo. CALIBRE CREST last start winner at Vaal when resuming. Has plenty of early speed and a likely leader, dangerous. STORMY WINTER coming off a win at Vaal and has genuine early speed, among the main chances. BLUE WATERS has the speed to overcome an unfavourable draw, has solid claims.  CAPTAIN HINDSIGHT draws to do no work and expect to lead, the real danger in the race.

IRONTAIL let-up and generally strong first-up, a close top pick.  CHATEAU FUTURA last start winner to break maiden at Vaal when first up and has won at the track before, the real danger in the race. MEET THE CAPTAIN looks the leader and all wins have come when faced with dry ground, right in this. AFTER HOURS looks the leader and all five wins have come in the dry, sneaky chance.

Looks to have good pace engaged in this one. SPRING WILL COME let-up and looks the leader, looks threatening. CONKER THE WORLD capable of racing on speed, hard to go past. WRITTEN IN STONE has the speed to overcome drawing the widest barrier, dangerous.  BIG CITY GIRL capable of racing on speed, place claims.
